Full Time Missionary!
 |
Chaplain Dick Rothlishberger
My wife, Judy, and I have been Missionary chaplains down at the Regional Justice Center in Kent, WA. for three years. I started out as a volunteer coming into the RJC after teaching junior high science all day. After three years of that, I was challenged by Greg Von Tobel to consider retiring early and become a full time chaplain under Prisoners for Christ. I decided to do that and have found my niche as an evangelist and discipler for one thousand plus male and female inmates.

A Message from our President
If you are reading this page it is possible that the Lord has placed a heartfelt tug on your heart to go into full time missionary work. You may not only be evaluating the possibilities of going to the mission field but also the possibilities of going into full time Prison Ministry work. Praise the Lord!
This may be a very emotional time for you or it may not be. For most people this time of preparations is a roller coaster of emotions. You don't know what to do or where to go for advice and counsel. You may be asking yourself some pretty tough questions like, "Am I suited for full time missionary work?" "How is God going to supply the needs of my family?" "What if my spouse is not supportive of this call?"
How do I know these things? I was right where you're at when God placed a call to move me from a part time volunteer to full time Missionary in the jails and prisons. From the time I accepted the call to the time that I left my business position God took two years in preparing our hearts for this full time FAITH ministry. Some people take shorter time while others take much longer.
If you have accepted the call from God to take His message into the jails and prisons, I would greatly encourage you to start the process. Remember that our Lord said He will never 'leave us or forsake us.' Stand firm and run the race marked out for you! - Greg Von Tobel
